Cian O’Broin is a designer, carpenter, and builder who works at the intersection of timber craft, high performance construction, and modern delivery systems. As co founder of Permatek and the developer behind Vault & beam, he helps shape the long term direction of the business, blending traditional timber framing values with a future focused approach to healthy, durable, energy efficient buildings in Ireland.

Cian’s strength is joining the dots between what gets designed, what gets built, and how it is delivered reliably. He brings hands on construction knowledge alongside specialist expertise in prefabrication, mass timber systems, and natural, low toxicity building assemblies. His work is rooted in whole building performance, with a strong focus on Passive House outcomes and on how structure, airtightness, insulation, windows, and ventilation work together as one system.

He also brings project management and manufacturing development experience, building repeatable workflows that improve quality, predictability, and speed from workshop to site. With experience working across the UK, Ireland, and Spain, and collaborating internationally on projects, delivery, and installation with specialised labour, suppliers, and manufacturers from over 20 countries across Europe and beyond, Cian supports Vault & beam with strategy, marketing, technical planning, and clear client communication.
