Heritage conservation

Honouring the Past. Preserving Timber Craft for the Future.

Our conservation work begins with respect. Respect for original fabric. Respect for traditional methods. Respect for the buildings that have stood for centuries.
We work on historic castles, listed buildings, estate structures, and period roofs. Our focus is always to restore and strengthen timber elements without compromising their character or architectural integrity.

From hand shaped beams to traditional roof trusses, every intervention is carried out with accuracy and restraint. We work closely with conservation architects and specialists to ensure each addition feels authentic and appropriate to its setting.

Conservation Led Timber Restoration

We design and craft replacement beams, trusses, and structural elements to match original proportions, materials, and detailing.

Many projects require shaping large section timber by hand and recreating traditional joints within complex historic structures. We understand how timber moves and settles over time, and we approach each commission with patience and technical discipline.

Every component is measured, shaped, and test fitted before installation. The aim is simple. Restore structural integrity while preserving the identity of the building.

Where required, we source Irish oak, Douglas fir, or pine to reflect the original material palette and ensure durability for generations to come.

How We Deliver
Heritage Conservation

Historic timberwork demands precision. Joints must align. Levels must be exact. New work must sit seamlessly within old fabric. Our process is built around careful surveying, measured drawings, approval, and disciplined installation from the outset.
  • FIXED PRICING
    Clear scope agreed in advance.
  • DRAWINGS & SIGN-OFF
Every structural detail reviewed before work begins.
  • WORKSHOP PREPARATION
Timber shaped, pre fitted, and prepared for accurate installation on site.

Whether restoring a castle roof, repairing a listed structure, or strengthening an estate building, our role is to deliver conservation work that protects both structure and history for decades to come.

How it works

From initial assessment to final installation, our conservation process is structured, transparent, and carefully managed.

Initial Consultation and Assessment

We assess the condition of the existing timber, review conservation requirements, and define a clear scope of work in collaboration with architects and specialists where required.

Design and Craft

Measured drawings guide fabrication. Replacement beams and trusses are shaped using traditional joinery methods. Each component is trial fitted before leaving the workshop.

Careful Installation

Installation is carried out with precision and respect for the existing structure. The finished work integrates seamlessly and strengthens the building without altering its character.
